Painting Story:
Inspired by the artist’s encounter with Mt. Fuji, Japan in 2019.
The work was created to connect people to their greatest moments in life (in the past, present and future) and therefore shift any limited thinking that may be present.
The painting was commissioned as an internal self-discovery experience for a viewer who would enter a private room with the painting and after seeing it, lay down for 20min. During the experience, a viewer was asked to look at the painting and ‘be’ with it, notice all colours, textures and the subject it represents. When laying down, they were asked to imaginatively bring the painting back to the forefront of their mind, connect with it and choose to notice their own peak(s) of life that the painting connects them to. Participants are encouraged to not only notice peaks in the past, but also open their minds to what is still ahead of them.
