This work is based on the spiritual practice of Enso painting. Enso is the iconic circular symbol representing the universe and the duality of life (empty yet full, infinite yet complete). This special circle is painted as one masterstroke, in one breath and no corrections permitted afterwards.

The painting started with Enso painted in black ink using a big performative brush. Colours were added afterwards to amplify the Enso effect which coincided with the astrological time of Lion’s Gate portal (the height of Leo season).

The work was created to heightened affinity for our passions and aspirations based on the concept of Leo energy believed to connect us to our inner sun and our own fire.
