“From One to Many to One”
Work in Progress (2025–present)
An interdisciplinary solo performance work bringing together live Enso painting and contemporary dance in a meditative exploration of rhythm, repetition and interconnectedness.
Developed with the support of an Arts Council England Developing Your Creative Practice (DYCP) grant, the project began as research into the relationship between the ritual of painting multiple Ensos and the embodied movement principles of Flying Low. As part of this research, Kamila CK completed an intensive Flying Low workshop led by David Zambrano at TICTAC Art Centre, Brussels, Belgium, in 2025.
The performance begins with the live creation of seven Enso paintings within a single ritual, establishing both the visual landscape and the spatial architecture for the choreography.
The work asks: can we step beyond our individual bubble and move in harmony with the momentum of life — with what exists both within us and around us?
The movement score follows the Fibonacci sequence—1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21…—creating a structure in which the score remains constant, yet no movement is ever repeated. Each circle builds upon the last, becoming a continuous gathering and release of energy and a choreographic meditation on our interconnectedness with one another and the wider cosmos.
The project was further developed during a 2025 performance residency at Space Clarence Mews, London, where it evolved into a 15-minute work-in-progress presented as part of a studio sharing in December 2025.
